Build meaningful work in a
collaborative and
supportive practice

At It Takes Practice, we believe meaningful therapy happens when clinicians feel supported, respected, and connected to the work they do.

Our goal is to create a collaborative community where therapists can grow professionally while helping clients make profound and sustainable changes in their lives and relationships. We strive to create a respectful, safe space where both clients and clinicians can engage in honest exploration and meaningful work.

If…

… you want to work in a supportive and collaborative practice

… you value thoughtful, client-centred therapy

… you’re looking for steady referrals and administrative support

… you want flexibility in how you structure your schedule

… you enjoy learning, consultation, and professional growth

Joining our team may offer the kind of professional environment where you can do meaningful work while continuing to develop as a clinician.

A collaborative group practice

Working at It Takes Practice means being part of a team that values collaboration, consultation, and shared learning.

Therapists in the practice are encouraged to connect with one another through regular team meetings, case consultations, and professional development opportunities. The goal is to create an environment where clinicians feel supported while continuing to grow their skills and perspectives.

You’ll have the freedom to bring your own clinical style and areas of interest, while still being part of a thoughtful and collaborative team.

Practical support so you can focus
on your work

Running a private practice involves many responsibilities beyond clinical work. Our goal is to help reduce that administrative load so therapists can focus more fully on their clients.

Team members benefit from:

  • steady referrals and marketing handled for you
  • administrative support for bookings and billing, and client questions
  • software for scheduling, notes, and secure virtual sessions
  • furnished and comfortable office spaces
  • a professional and accessible office location in Red Deer

This structure allows clinicians to focus on providing thoughtful care while the practice supports the operational side of the work.

Flexibility and professional
growth

Therapists work with a schedule that supports both client needs and personal balance.

Opportunities include:

  • part-time (8–15 hours/week) or full-time (15–20 hours/week) contracted positions
  • flexible scheduling options including morning, evening, or full-day availability
  • optional opportunities to facilitate groups
  • open to providing external supervision in counselling and assessment for provisional psychologists

This flexibility allows clinicians to shape their work in a way that feels sustainable and meaningful.
