ADHD ASSESSMENT RED DEER
When ADHD might be

Understanding attention, focus and support options for
children, teens and adults.
Why people seek an
ADHD assessment
People often look for an ADHD assessment after spending a long time feeling like things are harder than they should be. You might be trying your best, yet still struggling to stay focused, keep up or stay organized and wondering why.
This can show up as:
- Difficulty concentrating, finishing tasks or staying on track
- Feeling constantly overwhelmed, scattered or mentally exhausted
- Ongoing challenges at school, work or at home despite effort
- A sense that there’s more going on than just stress or motivation
For many people, an assessment is about understanding what’s behind these experiences and finding a clearer way forward.
How an ADHD
assessment can help
you see more clearly
An assessment can help make sense of patterns that may be affecting everyday life, including:
- Difficulty staying focused or organized despite effort
- Changes in attention and energy across different situations
- Strengths that may be getting missed
- Supports or adjustments that could make things feel more manageable
For many people, this understanding alone can bring relief and a clearer sense of what to do next.
What the assessment process looks like
Step 01
Initial consultation
A free 30-minute consult to talk through concerns, ask questions, and decide whether an Autism assessment is the right fit.
Step 02
Assessment sessions
Sessions may include conversations, questionnaires and tasks designed to better understand attention, focus and processing. These may happen in one block or be spread out, depending on age and needs.
Step 03
Report and feedback
A clear written report is prepared, followed by a feedback session to explain the results and discuss practical recommendations and next steps.
Timeline & Turnaround
Most ADHD assessments are completed and reviewed within around three weeks. Timelines can vary depending on the type of assessment and individual needs, but you’ll always know what to expect before moving forward.
Who ADHD assessments
are for
ADHD assessments can be helpful at different stages of life:
- Children who are finding school or behaviour more challenging than expected
- Teens who feel overwhelmed or frustrated by increasing demands
- Adults who have long suspected something more might be going on with focus, organization or follow-through
Each assessment is shaped around the person being assessed, taking into account age, context and what’s actually happening day to day.
How results are used
For many people, the most helpful part of an ADHD assessment is finally having things make sense. Results are often used to guide supportive next steps—at school, at work or at home—and to help you feel more confident about what kind of support will actually help, rather than continuing to guess.
A note on fees and coverage
ADHD assessments are completed by a Registered Psychologist, and fees vary depending on the type and scope of the assessment. We’ll talk through costs during the initial consultation so you know what to expect before deciding how to proceed. Some insurance plans may cover all or part of the assessment, and we’re able to direct bill certain providers depending on your plan.
