AMBER CHAMBERLAIN: REGISTERED PROVISIONAL PSYCHOLOGIST RED DEER
Attuned therapy focused on discovery and change
For teens, adults, and couples who want a safe space to explore their thoughts, sensation, and emotions
How I Work
My approach to therapy is straightforward and grounded.
I pay close attention to patterns, and will share (without judgement) when I notice something that no longer serves you.
I will bear witness to the incredible resilience of your human spirit.
I will bring attention to all the ways you are incredible, as well as gently invite you to look at areas that may feel difficult to face.
I deeply understand the importance of empathy and support.
I am dedicated to creating a space where teens, adults, and couples, can feel heard, valued, and empowered to make meaningful changes in their lives.
Who I tend to work well with
My clients are ready to explore the patterns and themes in their life and make active changes. They may feel stuck and not know how to make the changes they feel they need.
The individuals I work with are often humans who are yearning for new ways of coping, meeting their goals, and connecting to their values.
They appreciate a warm, grounded therapist who can help them understand the roots of their patterns, and still keep the work practical and doable in everyday life.
In my work with couples, I help them look at what’s getting in the way of connection, rebuild trust where it’s been broken, and practice honest, connection-focused communication.
Curiosity and discovery with purpose
From the beginning, I will meet you with warmth and genuine care, creating a space where you can speak openly without feeling judged or rushed.
I will listen closely and respond with empathy and compassion, helping you feel understood and accepted just as you are.
I will help you slow down, become more aware of how your emotions show up physically, and begin to understand yourself in a deeper way. Rather than feeling like you have to “figure everything out,” sessions with me often feel like a collaborative process of curiosity and discovery.
You might leave a session feeling lighter, more grounded, or with a clearer sense of what you’re experiencing. Over time, these conversations and moments of awareness can help you develop a stronger connection to yourself, along with practical ways to respond to stress, emotions, and life’s challenges with greater ease and self-compassion.
Training and professional background
My dedication to helping others is matched only by my passion for learning. I am committed to keeping up with the latest research through constant reading and training. This ensures that my approaches are evidence-based and that I provide my clients with the best care. Staying informed about new developments in psychology enhances my professional growth and significantly benefits those I work with.

Outside of the therapy room
Challenging experiences in my life have taught me grit, adaptability, and the importance of compassion for both myself and others. These painful experiences shaped my belief that healing happens best in the context of safety, understanding and genuine connection.
I take what I have learned (both through education and from my own lived experience) into my work as a Registered Provisional Psychologist.
I bring warmth, compassion, and genuine curiosity to my work. I have a deep respect for how much effort it can take to navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationships where boundaries have been difficult to form or maintain.
My Perfect Day
A perfect day would begin slowly with a good cup of coffee, followed by some time outdoors, ideally near water, in the mountains or on a trail. It would include movement, reading, meaningful connection, and space to be me, ending the day feeling calm, restored and grounded.
When you’re ready

There’s no obligation to commit. Sometimes the first step is simply a conversation to see whether it feels like a good fit.
